How to Check Powersports Part Fitment Before You Buy
Confirm an aftermarket part fits your machine before you order: gather year, make, model and trim, read the fitment badge on the listing, and cross-reference the part number.

The single most expensive mistake in aftermarket parts is ordering something that almost fits. Five minutes of checking up front saves a return, a second shipment, and a machine sitting on the stand. Here is the order we work in.
Start with year, make, model and trim
Write down all four before you start shopping. Trim is the one people skip and the one that bites — a base model and a sport trim of the same year often run different brake rotors, different drive belts and different suspension hardware.
The details are stamped on the machine, not just on the paperwork. The VIN plate on the frame gives you the model year the manufacturer built it as, which is not always the year it was sold.
Read the fitment badge on the listing
Every product page tells you how confident we are about fitment. A listing tagged with vehicle segments — ATV/UTV, Offroad, Street, Winter, Marine — is confirmed to the machine type but not to your specific model. A listing marked Fitment unknown means the supplier did not publish fitment data for that part, so we do not claim any.
Fitment unknown does not mean the part is wrong for you. It means the catalog cannot vouch for it, and the check falls to you or to us.
Cross-reference the part number
The manufacturer part number on the listing is the most reliable identifier there is. Compare it against the number on the part you are replacing, or against the parts diagram in your service manual.
Two things worth knowing when the numbers do not match exactly:
- Manufacturers supersede part numbers. A number that replaces an older one is still the correct part.
- Kits and single components share names. A brake pad set is not the same line item as a single pad.
- Left and right, front and rear are often separate SKUs even when the photo looks symmetric.
